The very first thing you should always do when planning party is the guestlist. Who will you invite? Who are you sure will assist?

Where will your party be held? What will be the most adequate time to have the halloween party? Remember that date and time should work for the majority of guests!

Step 3 – Party Invitations

What to do:

Divide the kids into smaller groups. One kid in each group is the mummy and the others wrap the mummy with toilet paper. You can have a winner for the best mummy or a race for the fastest mummy wrapped, or no winner at all.
To avoid problems with “I want to be the mummy!” you can divide the groups and have each member of the group draw an assignment out of a pumpkin for their “job”. You need at least one mummy per group and you could assign one kid to wrap the legs, arms, etc.. or just let them go.
Make sure to set some ground rules. You might want to tell them NOT to wrap the head or face and throwing the rolls of toilet paper around the room probably is not a good idea! (The teacher will appreciate this rule.) You could even have them wrap the teacher or room parents.

Musical Tombstones
What to do:

This works like musical chairs. A Halloween music tape works best.
To make the chairs look like tombstones, take a paper grocery bag and decorate with an epitaph. Use a black magic marker and make one with each kids name. Something like “Here Lies Matt” or “R.I.P. Steven”, embellish with a ghost or skull. If the chairs are small, you might need to cut off some of the bottom of the grocery bag before you start so they will fit nicely over the chairs.

Graveyard Walk

What you need:
Black Construction Paper
Halloween Music
White Magic Markers

What to do:
1.Cut out black construction paper into the shape of small tombstones.
2.With marker, mark tombstones with numbers.
This game is played like cakewalk, only when the music stops, call out a number & whoever is on that number, wins!
Or:
Cut out a piece of paper big enough to cut into the shape of a coffin.
Instead of using chairs, the kids lay in the coffin.

Musical Ghost Game

What you need:
You will need:
A clean white sock
Small wrapped candies
A black washable marker
A piece of yarn or ribbon
A cassette tape and player

What to do:

1. Fill the sock with the candies.
2. Tie yarn or ribbon around the open end to the sock.
3. Draw a scary ghost face on the toe end of the sock.
4. One person is chosen to start and stop the music.
5. The other players stand in a circle.
6. Players pass the sock around the circle while the music is playing. 7.When the music stops, the person who is holding the sock is out.
8. Play continues until only one player is left.

That person is the winner!

Ghost Bowling Halloween Game

What you need:
10 Empty Soda Bottles
Small Gourd
White and Orange Paint

What to do:

1.Paint the gourd orange and the bottles white.
2.Set up the pins-soda bottles.
3.Use the gourd as a bowling ball.

Pumpkin Pie

3/4 cup brown sugar; 1 1/2 cups fresh pumpkin
1/2 teaspoon salt; 3 tablespoons melted margarine
1 teaspoon cinnamon; 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
3 eggs; 3/4 cup milk

Separate eggs and lay the whites aside. Combine the yolks and all other ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. Fold in the egg whites and mix well. Spoon mixture into a 9″ unbaked pie shell. Bake at 350″ for one hour, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out cleanly.

Pumpkin Cookie

1 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup shortening; 2 eggs
1 lb. can pumpkin; 2 3/4 cups flour, sifted
1 tablespoon baking powder; 1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg; 1/2 teaspoon salt
l/4 teaspoon ginger; 1 cup raisins
1 cup pecans, chopped

Preheat oven to 400. Mix sugar, shortening, eggs and pumpkin thoroughly In a large bowl. Sift dry ingredients and add to pumpkin mixture. Blend well, Add raisins and pecans. Drop batter by teaspoonsful on ungreased baking sheets. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven. Makes about 6 dozen

Pumpkin Bread

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour; 1 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt; 1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon; 2 large eggs
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup vegetable oil; 1 cup fresh pumpkin
1/3 cup water; 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. Combine pumpkin, water, eggs & oil and mix well. Add dry ingredients slowly and beat thoroughly. Stir in nuts and pour batter into greased loaf pan. Bake at 350″ for 75-80 minutes. Cool 15 minutes before removing from pan.
